Eleven-year-old Chinese goaltender Canmore Ge (葛漠北) made history at a Czech ice hockey summer camp by leading his team to a dramatic comeback victory and earning the Vezina Trophy, the camp's highest honor for best goaltender. His name became the first Chinese name ever engraved on the trophy, which since 2000 has commemorated the most technically outstanding goalkeepers in the camp's history.
Born in Beijing, Ge started playing ice hockey at age five and trained under renowned Chinese women's national team goaltending coach Xie Ming. After moving to Ireland in 2025, he was selected for the Irish national youth ice hockey team and received personal commendation from Irish President Catherine Connolly. He also won the All Star award in the 2025-2026 All-Ireland Inline Hockey Championships while competing above his age group at only eleven.

Beyond sports, Ge is an accomplished professional drummer skilled in both Western percussion and Chinese drums. He actively participates in charity performances and cultural exchange events, including Vision Ireland concerts for the visually impaired and the 2026 "World United by Love" Global Spring Festival Gala.
On September 25, he will take center stage at the inaugural Ireland-China Cultural Arts Festival, performing martial arts and a drum-guzheng ensemble piece, continuing his role as a young bridge between Chinese and Irish culture.
